U19 World Cup 2026 India squad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have officially announced their squad for the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026, with Ayush Mhatre named captain and Vihaan Malhotra appointed as vice-captain. Both players are currently recovering from injuries and will remain at the BCCI Centre of Excellence for further treatment.The duo is expected to rejoin the squad ahead of the World Cup, which begins on January 15.India’s Group B fixturesIndia will start their World Cup journey against the USA on January 15 at Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. They will then face Bangladesh at the same venue on January 17, before taking on New Zealand on January 24, also in Bulawayo.The top teams from the group will advance to the Super Six stage, starting January 25. The semifinals and final will be played at Harare Sports Club, with the final scheduled for February 6. They reached the final but suffered a heavy 191-run defeat against Pakistan on December 20. Pakistan posted a massive 347/8, led by Sameer Minhas’ brilliant 172. India were then bowled out for 156 despite a quick start from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who scored 26 off 10 balls.India had earlier topped Group A and defeated Sri Lanka in the semi-final, showing strong form heading into the World Cup.
